Sandy – Land Rover Defender 110 – 1992

NOTE: Sandy is no longer available.  We lifted the body off the chassis and discovered a bit more rust than the project we were going to use her for required.  It is patch-able, but we would recommend a chassis swap.  The body is currently removed from the vehicle and is in partial restoration. If you’re still interested in Sandy as a project, feel free to reach out and ask us.  Let us know you’re aware of the current condition.

Features:

This was one of the first trucks we imported a couple years ago when we moved to our new shop. Unfortunately, she had paint issues and once we had her sand blasted it was clear that we needed to either re-skin all the doors or put new ones on. We threw a cover over her and she got stuck in the back of the shop.  After having sat for 7 months (or more), we hooked up the battery and she started on the first click.

The motor had been rebuilt around 50k miles ago and it runs amazingly strong.  If it hadn’t been for the bad paint job she would have been gone a long time ago.  Given it’s winter coming up, we’re offering her as a project truck to someone looking for something to do over the winter.  Or loss is your gain.

NOTE:  This Defender has already been sand blasted and that’s where she stands now.  The bulkhead has some rust issues that will need to be sorted.  We have metal panels for this area, but could also source a new bulkhead for you.

We’re testing out something new for pricing on this project that might be helpful for someone looking for a project:

$22,000 – As Is (Project Vehicle)*
$25,000 – Doors Swapped
$32,000 – Doors Swapped – Body Re-Sprayed
$35,000 – Doors Swapped – Body Re-Sprayed – Interior Refreshed
$38,000 – Doors Swapped – Body Re-Sprayed – Interior Refreshed – Full Service (brakes, cooling, hydraulics, etc).

I believe we have a spare 2.5TD available in our workshop that we would throw in as parts to get the turbo and diesel pump running again.
