Preservation Class Restoration

Project Suha

1992 Land Rover Defender 90 - 200Tdi - Forgotten Defender

The Base Restoration

This Land Rover Defender is in the middle of a Preservation Series phase but is still at a place where you could add your finishing touches. We had planned on making it into a simple soft-top, but could easily go with a pick-up or hard top configuration.

A Timeless Classic

This is one of those shop projects that we work on between other builds.  The goal is always to have something like this around to tinker on, but also make it available to someone if they want something without waiting as long as a full build.

Heritage + Style

We’ve completed a sympathetic chassis service, where we took care of any minor holes – patching and welding where necessary.  All the photos in the gallery show this work.  From there we’ve stripped the body off and have been working on a beautiful Arles Blue paint job to give it that perfect classic look.

A Forgotten Gem

This little Landy has a bit of an interesting back story. The biggest part of it is that we acquired her long ago from the Isle of Jersey. That’s part of the story. The bigger part of the story is that we forgot we bought her. Or rather, Mike (company founder) forgot he bought her. We moved her around the Salisbury, England workshop yard for about 6-7 months before he noticed it in the background during a FaceTime call one day.

He said, “Hey, what’s that little Defender 90 in the background?” Andrew’s response, “That’s the one we bought from Jersey a while back, remember?”

Well …. the answer was no. Who forgets they bought a Defender? Apparently, we do.

That’s why we called her “Suha,” which means “forgotten, overlooked” in Arabic. Al-Suha (also called Alcor) is the name of a star in the constellation Ursa Major.
